"This is a beautiful story about the power of the small things we can all do to brighten someone’s day. Something we could all do a little more of! The illustrations are stunning and bring the story to life in such a magical way. My children (and I!) loved it!"
'100% Fantastic Story'

'This is a children's book and I am an adult but I am so glad I have read it as it really did put a smile on my face.
I just want to say as much as I loved the story, the illustrations are superb.
They really took me back to my childhood of proper illustrations in children's books, they are absolutely wonderful.
It is a lovely story about Emily and how her smile is passed on and makes a lot of people's day. I think it also will teach children to be kind and caring of other people.
And how one smile can make a whole big difference to somebodies day. I think Amanda needs to write more children's books especially if she works with Paul the illustrator.
I think we can really help change children's perspective on the world. I loved it and would happily read it again just for a smile."
'The biggest smile inducing book I've ever read my children!'

The Smile That Went A Mile
" When Emily smiled at Mrs Simpson, on her way to school she had no idea what would happen next..."
When we finished this book my 8 year old looked at me and said "Mum, Emily has really made me smile" which made me smile and then her little brother didn't want to miss out and smiled too. A collection of infectious smiles.
My daughter then exclaimed "I want to be Emily" - what she doesn't realise is, she already is. This story tells an important tale of being kind, inclusive and friendly, a smile is infectious and truly does go a mile. Children are our most impressionable treasures, and so to read a story teaching them how incredibly special one smile is to another, is invaluable.
One point I must make and am not used to doing, is how utterly beautiful the illustrations were. They were classic, and comforting and reminded me of The Tiger That Came to Tea and Burglar Bill. Both fond favourites of mine, and I have no doubt this will become this generations favourite too.
I cannot thank you enough Amanda Prowse & Paul Ward Smith for this copy of your beautiful book."
